Prevent Infectious Illness

Mbale Regional Hospital
(Eastern Uganda)

In partnership with the government's Mbale Regional Hospital have installed insecticide treated bednets to prevent malaria for all of the beds in the pediatric wards and repainted the pediatric wards to make them child friendly. We are exploring a handwashing pilot for the pediatric areas using the WHO anti-bacterial formula. And, will install solar lighting in the pediatric wards.

Malaria Treatment

In partnership with the World Health Organization's Tropical Disease Research Program, will be implementing a unique and very promising treatment approach to substantially reduce mortality from malaria for infants and small children living in remote rural villages.

Handwashing (near Mbale)

In partnership with the Mbale District Health Office of the Ministry of Health we are providing anti-bacterial handwash to the Level IV (in-patient and out-patient) and providing for systems for providing fresh water to three Health Centres.

Nkosi Johnson HIV/AIDS Orphan School
(Near Kampala)

In partnership with the school have provided insecticide treated bednets to all resident students and faculty, equipped a dispensary, provided safe water systems, dug a new safe well and are building a latrine system for waste management.

In partnership with the microfinance organization BRAC, we are developing a program to provide a revolving loan fund to enable clients and their villages to build and install latrine systems.
